DISCOVER THE POWER OF PRAYER
The Earth Prayer Minute involves giving one minute a day to pray for a thriving world where life is secure and joyful. For example, Mother Teresa said not to ask her to pray against war but for peace. In addition to the goal of peace is the goal of all-around well-being for everyone. The important thing is to pray from the heart and soul sincerely. An artist does not imagine what they do NOT want on the canvas, but what they DO want. Here too, it is important to ideate on a positive vision of a beautifully functioning world - one where life is thriving, secure, and happy. It is interesting how far this path of thinking can lead once taken. Just what would this world look like? The request is to pray one minute a day and, and if you feel good about doing the Prayer Minute, to tell other people you think might wish to join in.
At the end there is a blog with suggestions for positive ideations.
To maximize the power, energy and personal benefits, joining together at the same times:
Daily - 6:00 am and/or 9:00 pm in your own time zone
Sunday in North America, all the time zones together, so pray at:
Eastern Time Zone 9:00 pm
Central Time Zone 8:00 pm
Mountain Time Zone 7:00 pm
Pacific Time Zone 6:00 pm
If someone sends times for other continents or countries, they will be posted online.
If there is not a reminder app on your phone, there are a number of free apps that will give you a free reminder on Saturday night or Sunday morning.
The Collective Energy of Prayer
The Earth Prayer Minute is non-denominational. Prayer is common to spiritual practices throughout the world and throughout time. Differences in cultures and religions do not matter - the beneficial outcome is what counts. This minute is also about raising positive energy even if one is not "religious" or "spiritual". It is aimed at creating positive change in the world through the collective power of prayer. The idea is simple - if millions of people prayed together for just one minute a day, the energy could fund and initiate change. The focus of these prayers is not just peace but a world in balance where life prospers. In this vision, war, genocide, and famine do not exist, and resources are conserved and managed properly. People's needs are met, allowing them to develop their potential in all areas while science, medicine, and the arts flourish, bringing the best quality of life to society. The abundance of the earth is protected for the future, and humanity is secure.
Prayer is a powerful and universal force that comes naturally and spontaneously, and it is our birthright. We all can do it, in fact no one can stop us. By bringing forth our wills in prayer, we can generate a significant force and cause a shift toward a better world. While it may seem hard for an individual to do
anything personally, millions of people praying together can create a massive concentration of focus, uniting as many people as possible for common goals.
Inspiration for This Website
I had an experience which I believe was shown to me for a reason - to start a prayer movement to network the globe and include millions of people. Several years ago I received notice of a Peace Prayer Day. To pray one minute at the designated time for a good cause seemed very little to ask so I decided to give my tiny bit and go my way. To my surprise, as I began to pray, I almost fell off the chair because there was something very powerful and positive going around the world as so many people prayed. This extraordinary experience stayed in my mind and I began to think, "If this one minute a year was so powerful and tangible, then if thousands or perhaps millions of people joined together like this every day what could happen?" Millions of people would all like to contribute to making progress toward a balanced, thriving world and perhaps they could. Let's change the balance.

This may not seem possible on the face of it, but why not? Positivity is more powerful than negativity, like the tiny match that lights a room. A stick may be broken alone but not in a bundle of sticks. There is always an eleventh hour, and the bad news is it has arrived. However, the earth's future may be even brighter than the wildest dreams we can imagine today. There may be a road filled with beautiful discoveries, color, and light. Humanity surely has potential we have not yet discovered, just as our current knowledge was unimaginable centuries ago. If everyone were to be secure in the necessities of life, imagine the potential that could be released to develop new things to go deeper within. Instead of a huge struggle on earth, consider a flourishing, successful society where every person can be fulfilled and thrive. Although we need to address the negative things that face us, it is good to remember that there is also a wonderful future possible for us. This is as it should be and can be—first, a dream (idea), then a thought (prayer), then a reality. Let's stand up and go get it.
It's up to us.
The Grassroot Level
The true grassroots level for creating a better world is within us. In everyone is the key to unimaginably vast resources. There is so much occurring today that any sane person would like to change. It may seem like an impossible task for an individual to do anything, but everyone can contribute to creating a better world. People who do heroic acts say they did it "because I was there." Well, we are "there," and the time is now.
If the leaders of diverse cultures saw a train coming at them, they would not hesitate to join together to pull the lever to switch the track. This is the situation for our planet, and everyone must look at the big picture and preserve humanity and all the progress achieved by different cultures. We should not worry about the exact way that it will occur. There may be ways that unfold that are better than any we can see now.
Overcoming Limiting Beliefs
It can be easy to become conditioned to thinking that the world has always been like this or worse and, therefore, must always be so. We are accustomed to many ideas that may have been cultivated by exploitative elements or ignorant people of the past or which may have been true at one time but aren't now. The belief that a certain way of thinking is old and that we are used to it doesn't necessarily make it true. Many more people would like to take care of this amazing planet and create a world where life is balanced and thriving than not. Those people have every right to make sure this happens.
Take your first step to bring a positive change to the world.
Although prayer has always been common throughout religions and anecdotal accounts of its effects are abundant; science is also beginning to explore the more subtle forms of energy. A couple of hundred years ago, no one would have believed in radio and television waves; now, their existence is common knowledge. Masuru Emoto conducted experiments by freezing water in the presence of positive and negative thoughts. The crystals formed beautifully in the presence of loving thoughts and poorly in the presence of negative ones. Our bodies are largely water. Studies with plants connected to lie detectors showed that when one plant is injured, the others near it react too. Often if you focus on someone intently from behind and they cannot see you, they feel it and turn around. We are connected and also hold more power than we realize. Another interesting phenomenon is brainstorming. It has been found that within 15 minutes of convening to discuss a problem that no one could solve alone, two or more people will find new angles and solutions that none could get on their own.
This brings up the possible benefits of joining others in prayer. Perhaps we connect with many people as we pray, and we may benefit personally, whether we feel it consciously or not. Perhaps our beings pick up elements generated and have uses for them. Perhaps the wisdom of others helps us in subtle ways. There will be many people praying at the same time. Certainly, doing a bit of service each day adds up and is also good for us - everyone feels good when they help others. Perhaps even people unaware of the praying may also be helped. Another personal benefit from such a daily practice is increased focus on positive goals. This is empowering and helps us find concrete ways we can help others in our communities.
On the subject of prayer:
The prayer power has never been tried to its full capacity...if we want to see mighty wonders of divine power and grace wrought in the place of weakness, failure, and disappointment, let us answer God's standing challenge, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and might things which thou knowest not.” - Hudson Taylor
Prayer is the exercise of drawing on the grace of God. - Oswald Chambers

Deep down in me, I knowed it was a lie, and He knows it. You can't pray a lie - I found that out" – Mark Twain
